Avni Bhuva
A celebration of colour, craft, and modern femininity.
Avni Bhuva is a textile artist whose work is defined by a quiet balance between tradition and modernity.
Based in Vadodara, Gujarat, her practice draws from India's rich textile heritage, thoughtfully reinterpreted through a contemporary perspective. Each piece reflects an intentional approach to design — where colour, material, and movement exist in harmony.
The Language of Craft
Working with natural fabrics — pure silk, tussar, Maheshwari, chiffon, crepe de chine, and georgette — Avni approaches design with a sensitivity to texture, movement, and form. Each piece begins with the fabric itself, evolving through a process that honours both material and craft.
Central to her work is the art of hand block printing. Avni designs her own printing blocks, inspired by florals, geometry, and timeless motifs. These are brought to life in collaboration with skilled artisans, using techniques such as hand printing, natural dyeing, weaving, and delicate embroidery — including resham and mukaish.
Subtle variations become part of the story, reflecting the beauty of the handmade.
